Christopher R. Freid, Esq.
Chris Freid was born in Paterson, New Jersey and is a life-long resident of Passaic County, New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University in the Bronx, New York and received his law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Connecticut.

After a judicial clerkship in the Passaic County Superior Court, Chris, served as an assistant prosecutor in the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office where he handled domestic violence cases. In November of 1999 he began service as an assistant prosecutor in the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. In that office he was a member of the Special Victims Unit since early 2000 where he participated in numerous investigations and trials involving cases of child sexual abuse, infant homicide, physical abuse and neglect. In January of 2014 he assumed the role as supervisor of the Special Victims Unit and was promoted to Chief Assistant Prosecutor in December 2015. Professor Freid retired from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office in October 2022 and now maintains his private practice in Wayne, New Jersey.

Chris is also an adjunct faculty member at Montclair State University since 2005; is a faculty member of Child First/Finding Words-New Jersey forensic interview protocol since 2006; and previously sat on the board of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Children’s Alliance and was a member of the Passaic County Multidisciplinary Team.

He is a member of the Passaic County Bar Association and is a recipient of Heroes for Children Award presented by the New Jersey Children’s Alliance in 2022.

Chris enjoys writing and playing music, exercise and meditation in his free time.
